Sagar Upreti
Sagar Upreti is the Owner and Managing Director of Upreti Talc Pvt. Ltd. (UTPL), one of India’s leading soapstone mining and milling companies. Having led the business since 2013, his relentless focus on quality, client satisfaction, and operational excellence has helped drive UTPL’s rapid growth over the past decade. A Computer Science Engineering graduate from DIT University, India Sagar leverages his technical background to champion safe and sustainable mining practices while actively contributing to the evolution of the talc industry across Uttarakhand. Outside of work, Sagar is an avid trekker with a keen interest in astrology.
PK Binjola
Born and raised in Uttarakhand, India, PK Binjola returned home after 25 years in the United States to serve as the Global Head of Sales for Upreti Talc Pvt. Ltd. (UTPL). With more than two decades of leadership experience at Fortune 500 companies, including Colgate-Palmolive and Hanesbrands Inc., his vision is to establish UTPL as a global leader in the talc industry. PK brings expertise in Joint Value Creation, Category Management, talent development, and building strong customer partnerships. Having worked in three different countries with some of the biggest retailers in the world, he has developed a global perspective and an ability to deliver sustainable and profitable growth. PK holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) degree from University of Delhi, India and an MBA from Wake Forest University, USA. Outside of work, PK enjoys chess, golf, and writing poems.
Mr. Madan Upadhyay
Mr. Upadhyay brings over 35 years of core field experience. He oversees geological strategy and mining operations across all six of our sites. He earned his Master’s in Geology in 1987 and holds an IBM-recognized RQP (Recognised Qualified Person) certification for mine planning. Before joining UTPL, he served in senior geological roles across major industrial groups, including Birla, Dalmia, and Sanghi. He is also certified by DGMS, Dhanbad, as a 1st Class Mines Manager.
Kartik Pant
Kartik Pant is a Founding Partner at Prakant Law Offices and a graduate of National Law University Odisha, where he was awarded the University Gold Medal for Outstanding Leadership. He specialises in commercial and technology laws, with a keen interest in constitutional law, and has represented corporations, individuals and governments before the Supreme Court, High Courts and tribunals including NCLAT and APTEL. Kartik advises technology, infrastructure and FMCG clients on pre-litigation strategy, litigation, corporate structuring and commercial agreements throughout their business lifecycle. His experience includes advising on infrastructure contracts, share transfer and purchase agreements, shareholder arrangements and employment contracts. He also advises start-ups on founder arrangements, fundraising, regulatory compliance and other legal matters. Kartik serves as In-House Counsel to several companies, providing strategic day-to-day legal support without an internal legal team. He advises on technology law, GDPR, CCPA and cross-border digital regulation, and has extensive experience in arbitration, from invocation through enforcement and appeal. He is also a PhD Scholar researching legal claims arising from violations of data protection laws worldwide. Additionally, he leads legislative drafting and rationalisation initiatives for the Government of Uttarakhand and has contributed to significant legal reforms.
